What To Expect During Your First Personal Training Session

One of the primary goals of a personal trainer is to create a highly effective and safe exercise program that is tailored to your personal fitness and weight loss goals. A Get-To-Know-You Interview

Your trainer will want to know why you have signed up to work with them. They want to know what has made you want to change your mindset and begin a fitness journey.  What motivates you? What holds you back? What obstacles do you seem to always run into when you try to consistently exercise? Commit to answering these questions as truthfully as possible. Really consider your big “why” as this will not only get you through the gym doors, it will also keep you focused and motivated. Also, expect to answer questions about any past injuries and your medical history. Your trainer will most likely take some baseline metrics for your blood pressure and heart rate as well. All of this important information will help your trainer get to know you better so they can customize a workout plan that is tailored to help you achieve your fitness goals.

Physical Fitness Assessment

Before you begin training, your trainer will first need to do a baseline assessment of your current fitness level. This will not only help them understand what areas need to be improved within their fitness, but it will also help keep track of these improvements as you continue training. You will  be able to use these assessments to motivate you throughout your training sessions as you start to notice improvements. You can also use them to compare your future results to see how much your fitness has actually improved. Here are a few assessments you can expect:
