Sophia
I have always been active - squash, dance. competitive swimming - but found my passion in competitive climbing. After competing nationally for 8 years in the sport, I went into school for personal training at Mount Royal University to further my knowledge about weightlifting and fitness. Learning about the importance of strength training and the significant role it plays in longevity and quality of life is so interesting and motivating to me! I think it is knowledge that everyone can benefit from bringing into their lives.
I am currently in school for Holistic Nutrition, as fitness and nutrition go hand-in-hand. Both aspects of nutrition and fitness need to be looked at when trying to improve overall health and quality of life.
My focus for training is sustainability and longevity. The point of working out is to increase your quality of life and be able to move without pain for a long, long time. I believe working out shouldn't ever be something you hate. Finding creative ways to move your body is so important for mental and physical health.
